What is the name of your state? Ohio

Is it legal for an employer to deduct from your sales commission to fund another department within your organization?

Also is it legal to deduct for payment of required clothing that they want you to wear on the job?

Is it legal to deduct from your pay in car sales when there is an error in the customers payoff?

The answers to all three of your questions is, it depends upon your state law. Ohio employment law is, in at least some respects, so convoluted that I don't even try to interpret it any more. Your state Department of Labor will be able to answer all of your questions.
