What is the name of your state? GA
I was a City Employee & was fired for insubordination 21 days after an incident. According to the Employee Handbook the following rules of Disciplinary Action weren't followed:
1. Notify in writing of charge, specifically that termination being considered
2. Suspended for 5 days pending an investigation
3. All Disciplinary action must take place no later than 5 days after the incident.
NONE OF THE RULES WERE FOLLOWED, I was fired 21 days later w/o notice, suspension, investigation, etc.

GDOL Unemployemnt Benefits granted, fired for convenice not infraction, ADL Judge upheld City's Decision, didn't acknowledge any of the above facts. I appealed based solely on his overlooking the guidelines as set forth. My attorney wants more money - don't have it.

Any advice for proceeding? How to fight this?
