What is the name of your state? Arizona

What would you do in the following situation?

While calling your former employers you were told that no information was released by your former employers about your job performance or character. However, your current employer has told you that two of your former employers have stated you committed illegal acts. However, you have never been charged with a crime and never have been convicted of a crime.

Please help.

I would have a trusted acquaintance contact the employers, pretend to be "ABC Company" and request reference information on you and see what is being said. Right now, you don't know if either employer is telling you the straight story.

By the way, former employers saying you committed illegal acts is not the same as your being charged with or convicted of a crime. Plenty of people engage in illegal acts and aren't charged or convicted. I've fired employees for theft where we didn't press criminal charges.

If the former employers ARE saying this, the issue hinges on whether they have legitimate reason to believe you did indeed committ any crimes.
