What is the name of your state? NY

I have just been laid off by my employer and we were suppose to receive our last check the same day we were laid off but we didn't. They stated that they didn't make payroll because a bridge loan did not close when it was suppose to. I don't beleive that they will file BK, the owners are a group of private investors that have plenty. I would like to know how long they have to pay us legally?

Run, do not walk, to the phone and call the State Department of Labor and file a claim for wages.
