location is Knoxville TN. I am employed by a company named Semperiond, which is aparently owned by GMAC. GMAC is closing the majority of this collection office and 200 + of my fellow employees are being laid off. I came to work with window chalk saying "GMAC SAID YES TO FILIPINO JOBS AND NO TO AMERICANS". Supervisors and sight directors said this could effect my severence package by leading to potential termination. Are they allowed to do this or should I only sport this literature while my car is not on the property?

Are they allowed to do this Yes. They can fire you on the spot and refuse to provide any severance.

or should I only sport this literature while my car is not on the property? I'd suggest you not "sport" this literature at all. Yes, you certainly have the right to voice your opinion and your employer has the right to object (strenously) to your making negative statements about them. Even if you only advertise your feelings while off company property, it's quite possible someone you work with, even a manager, will see it and report it back to management. Frankly, I think you're shooting yourself in the foot. You also need a positive reference from these people.

If you're awarded a severance package, it could have strings attached, namely that in order to receive it, you agree not to criticize the company or any of its employees.

The comment about Filipino jobs could also result in a backlash from any employed by the company and/or the Filipino community in general.

For safety's sake, you shouldn't be chalking your window anyway. A police officer could very well cite you.
