I was layed off about 16 weeks ago. I have not yet found any work. I was told I was being layed off because the company was not going to persue the line of work I do which is computer network admin/installation. They are a company that works on contracts. I have come to find out that they are now starting to persue the work. Can they do this even though they told me that they were not and layed me off for it? Do they have to try to hire me back before hiring someone else? I live in Texas.

Thank you.
