Can anything be done when company policy is broken? For instance, "open door" policy stating of no reprocussions and your supervisor (whom you confided in) tells her supervisor what was said about them. And then when one of her "friends" say even worse, nothing is said!! Isn't this prejudicial?

In the very large majority of cases, a company is free to violate their own policies. Company policy is not law.

You have given VERY little information, but based on what you did say, nothing illegal has transpired.
