I work in county government. My department head's board is making him cut his budget and reduce his staff. Altho I am not the last hired, he is proposing that I be laid off because I carry a family insurance policy and therefore he could save more money by getting rid of me. The county pays 100% of single and family premiums. My job performance is fine. He admits it is soley because he would save the most money by not having an employee with family coverage. Can he do this??
