I received a 60 day notice from my employer yesterday, that due to a mass layoff, I will be released in 60 days. They asked me stay on for the 60 days to help with the transition. They then contacted a prospective employer in the same industry, and asked that he not hire me for 60 days because they need me here, but after that I would be fair game. Is it legal to try to prohibit someone from finding another job? State is Illinois.
