Misdemeanor drug possession - termination?

I've been with my company 2 years. They have zero tolerance for drug use. 6 months ago I was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanor) and ordered to CA drug diversion for 18 months. If my employer finds out about the arrest, can they fire me?

Since I'm not aware of any law that prohibits an employer from firing an employee for possession of drugs, on or off the premises, I would say the answer is yes, they can.
