What is the name of your state? VA

Does anyone have any problems obtaining employment while having misdemeanor conviction on your criminal record?

Does misdemeanor charge have that big impact on employers' hiring decisions?

Please share your experience!

Thanks!

That depends on:

1. What the misdemeanor is for
2. How recent it is
3. What type of jobs you are pursuing
4. Each employer's determination and opinion on the relevance of criminal convictions
5. Any relevant State laws

Epungement is key

[you must have an expungement. I know that if they do a background check after that they wont find anything on you. you should consider getting one for the future. they are not too expensive you can do one yourself. Ask an criminal attorney for more info.

Honeydipper, that is not entirely correct. First of all, not all convictions can be expunged. Secondly, you would be amazed at the number of people who have written to these forums about an expunged conviction that still showed up on a background check.
