I was laid off from my job on Feb. 17th. I live and worked in Nevada but my employer was based in New York.
I've been denied unemployment because my employer paid a bulk sum in severance. The gross amount equaled approx. 3 months of my salary but the net was FAR less that I would have brought home in 3 months because of the taxes taken out of the bulk payment. The State of Nevada is denying my eligibility for unemployment until May 26 2012.
I want to appeal, but not sure if I have grounds to- can anyone help?
Thank you! What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I don't think this is something you can appeal. With luck, you will find a new job much sooner than 3 months.
