What is the name of your state? Florida
I am being sued for over ten thousand dollars for breaking a non compete form that I am not breaking. My previous employer is taking this to trial. How can this be? I thought it would be throwed out when it was discovered that I am not employed at the present time by someone that they state would fall under the non compete form. They are also stating that I stole forms from their computer which were forms that I used in my previous business and was told that I could use on their system in which ever way I saw fit. (I can also prove that the documents were mine, it is all on a zip drive with a previous date on it) I am going broke paying attorney fees for something that I didn't do? How far can this go? This is also a small company case not a big corporate event so I am at a lose as to what they are hoping to gain.
Please advise. Thanks
