What is the name of your state? NH

I want to hire somebody who was fired by a competitor.
He signed a non-compete agreement to not work for a competitor for 1 year.
Is this still enforcable if the employee has been terminated from the company.
It seems to me the employment agreement the non-compete was part of was dissolved by the company when they terminated him.

You answer depends entirely on the language of the non-compete.
Waiting to get a copy, but I may never.
Just seemed like the previous company gives up the right to direct the career path of someone they unilaterally dismissed.
