What is the name of your state? Michigan

I work with a consultancy company and is currently placed at a client place.
It seems like i signed a contract with my employer that has a clause saying that I shouldn't be joining the client while I am employed and for a period of two years, after i resign from my company.

Supposing I accept the client offer and join the client will my employer be able to take legal action against this?

I certainly hope you meant "non-compete" and not "non-competent". :D

The enforceability of a noncompete agreement is very agreement-and-state-specific. There is no way anyone here can presume to advise you without having read the document in its entirety. If you are concerned, I would recommend you have the agreement reviewed by a local attorney with experience in this area.
