I am an architect working for a large architectural office. Our regular hours are 37.5 per week, although 50 to 60 is more the norm. We receive overtime only for the first year out of school. After that we are 'promoted' and salaried. Our hours in excess of 37.5 are considered to be 'volunteered'. Are there any regulations on the amount of hours intern or young architects are expected to work without compensation?
