pennsylvania brewery closing - given 60 day notice - union contract into 14th mo. of 3 year contract - successorship clause in contract. if severance package not accepted do we have guaranteed recall rights if the brewery is reopened within the remaining contract period under new ownership.

I think that once the plant closes, there is no more contract. That means that there is no successorship clause, etc. Recall rights, etc., are only effective so long as the plant remains operational. Usually a union will negotiate plant closings. My advice, take the severance. If the plant should ever reopen, you can always reapply for a job. Always thought alcohol sold well in good times and bad times.
