My mother was fired from her job last week. She has Hepititis C and is currently undergoing treatment. Her employer of 6 year called and left a message that they were changing payroll companies and they were giving her 3 months severence pay. Can they just do that? Ther time that she was taking off for treatment was agreed upon by her employer and she was fully intending to go back to work after she is finished and feeling better. She was working until she had a disagreement with her employer and she grabed ahold of my mom and would not let her leave. This put her under so much stress that she was in bed for a week. She was advised that she should not go back to work until she was finshed treatment and she discussed this with her employer and they agreed. Does she have any legal rights? Please help.
