How does someone with an indecent exposure charge (like peeing in the woods) find a job. In Mississippi when they do a background check for a job are they going to see this and think sex offender and throw out the application?

If a prospective employer finds out that a candidate has been charged with indecent exposure (or anything else for that matter), the prospective employer may legally refuse to hire the candidate. It all depends on whether or not the prospective employer chooses to search for this type of information and whether or not the employer chooses to withhold employment based on the information found.

All you can do is keep applying for jobs and hope for the best. Whether a prospective employer does a criminal background check and if they do, whether this will matter to them, is not something anyone responding can predict.

Not all criminal background checks are the same. Many, if not most, checks focus solely on convictions. Indeed, some look only at felony convictions. Others, however, are as thorough as a FBI check, reviewing all criminal charges for which available records are available irrespective of their resolution.

In short, your bf should not allow the prospect of this charge being discovered to hinder his search. It may not be a factor in a background check at all. Moreover, if he asked about the underlying incident, he should tell the truth. IMHO, it is likely not a deal-breaker for a prospective employer interested in hiring him.
