I work in the State of Michigan. I have worked for the same company for 10 years. I have never recieved anything less than an effective on any perfromance review. Recently I was told that I would be put on Probation for 60 days for assorted offenses wich were listed, or I could take a demotion with loss of pay.
My questions are these:
1. There are several inaccuracies in the so called offenses that I can prove with hard data. Can I refuse probation because of this?
2.One of the offenses listed was that I did not committ an illegal act ( wanted me to cut down some bushes not on our property). Can I refuse probation becuase of that?
3. The remedies that I have to follow are listed differently that what my boss told me he expected. For instance I was told that I had to hit all financial numbers but his conversation says otherwise (I have that in written form). Can I refuse probation on those grounds?

Thank you
