What is the name of your state? west virginia

I live in wva, work in Va, company is from Pa, so I don't know which state I need the legal advice for.

My company NEVER fires anyone (at least none i've known of) they even refuse to say the word "fired".

My employer furnishes a company vehicle for us to take back and fourth to work ( our foreman keeps the vehicle at his home and picks us up at the beginning of the work week).
A fellow employee I worked with for two years upset my foreman,at work. When he was dropped at his home, my foreman told him "you quit, I will not come here to pick you up".We did not pickup the employee and he did not show up for work in Va.
What I was wanting to know is:
1) could he have driven himself to Va and come back to work the following day ? they didn't mark him down as "fired".

2)would they have been liable for his vehicle expense for taking himself out of state to work, since they did not go to his home to pick him up?

I'm afraid they will do the same to me one day(soon), that is the personal need for this information.

Yes, if he were physically capable and had a driver's license.

No.

...even if...
