What is the name of your state? Vermont. Ok, I get the idea...too long. So? If your sexually harassed by email, sent pornographic pictures, called mom, and so on and so on...then...its reported...then the guy is put on probation, finds out it was you, treats you along with his buddy's like crap...you get sick over it physically...and then get fired because they claim they need you at work and have been out too much from this so called stress, and told to suck it up! Seems kind of unfair to me since this other guy kept his job for the crap he did to me!!!! TY. Company has over 2500 employees.

I would have taken the sexual harrassment one step further... a company I used to work for in New York City had a male supervisor that would stand behind his employees while they were on the phone and rub their shoulders, say inappropriate things, etc... one girl got so scared of him that she told the call center manager... he too was placed on probation, but nothing else was done... she filed a claim of sexual harrassment against the company (someone more knowledgeable please help me with the proper wording..sorry) so her job was protected and this man was suspended until a full investigation was done... he was fired shortly after that and she wasn't retaliated against because she took legal steps to ensure that.

Maybe someone more experienced in HR could better inform you of the steps you need to take... I hope you saved those emails, etc...

Good luck

Thank you for your opinion. Beth has more than 25 years in HR and knows what questions need to be asked in order to correctly answer the question.

I'm sorry... I wasn't referring to Beth... I was referring to myself!!! I am sooo sorry for the confusion!! I was just letting her know what happened at my job, but I am not an HR professional...

Beth, I am sorry if my sentence was taken wrong! :(

The HR department was the one whom reported it to my manager. This guy was put on probation. My manager was told of my hostile work environment by myself, (I dont think hr knew about that) he moved me when I threatened to quit. I was still running into these guys at work, and became ill from the stress, very ill. Severe headaches, ulcer. Anyways I lost time at work. They fired me within two days of coming back since they would not let me back to work without filling out the disability paperwork they "required" for me being out. This guy is still there, and I am out of a job!! My manager basically told me to "suck it up", even when I told him of my coping issues at work. I guess I became an issue. Oh and this employer is a HUGE HUGE company and has a zero tolerance so I was told.
