What is the name of your state? Ohio

I applied for a postion that I used to supervise over, with my former employer. The current supervisor, and the mangager both wanted me back, until the HR person told them I may not work well with the current supervisor (since I knew how to do his job) and would not do as he directed. So far they won't even interview me, although I am more than qualified.

Don't depend on 'hearsay'. Maybe your former colleagues do (or don't really) want you back, and MAYBE the HR person did/or didn't make the statement. Any number of factors work against employees who have great work histories and 'been good', but may not be dependable to play the inside political games. You're probably better off starting over somewhere else.

You didn't ask a question. I assume you want to know if it is legal for the company to refuse to Interview you? Yes, it is. Unless you had a contract that says otherwise, the company is under no legal obligation to rehire you regardless of how qualified you may be for the position.
