What is the name of your state? AL

In Feb 2003 I moved from CA to AL. Company paid 11k towards recloation. They hired relocation specialists and they deducted $3500 towards taxes. Right now I got another oppurtunity in CA and they employer is not willing to pay in order to break the relocation agreement with my present employer. If I pay from my pocket, will the taxes I paid will be given back to me? if yes, how will that happen? The money that I will be paying to my current employer are already tax deducted.

Please shed some light.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Naveen.

If the tax was deducted from a check in your name for the full amount of the relocation (gross relocation) then pay back the enire amount, including the tax.
