    replaced by someones mother?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? california
I was fired yesterday, I work in the wardrobe department
on a motion picture movie and was hired to do et
costuming for the duration of the movie. The supervisor
said the department had to make budget cuts and since I
was last to be hired I had to be first to go.She has never
liked me, that was very clear to me, but she told me it
was nothing personal, that i had been an asset and it was
purely a budget thing. But then I received a call
sheet/schedule for work Tuesday, my name was not on it
but I found out they just hired someone else to replace
me. And it was one of the other set costumers mother! I
was fired because the supervisor did not like me, she
was always short in patience and tone with me, there was
no reason for it. Other people witnessed her rudeness
towrds me. But I was never written up. I could feel I was
being left out of the loop and she was giving informa tion
the other set girls i wasn't privy to. I am in a union (local
    705) as well, does that make a difference?

In general, being let go from a job because your supervisor didn't like you is perfectly legal. Being let go because they work better with others, have no patience for you or if they just want to replace you with friends and relatives are all acceptable reasons as well.

They just can't fire you due to your race, religion, age(over 40), and other characteristics protected by federal or state law.

But, if this is a union gig, then you may have some other protections. Contact your union rep to see what the contracts and rules are for your situation.

I can't speak to any protections offered through your CBA - you'll need to speak to your union rep about that.

As to whether this is a wrongful (illegal) termination, it's not. If they want to terminate you for "budget reasons" and immediately hire someone's mother, they can. No laws require your supervisor to be nice to you either.
A person, who is nice to you, but rude to a waiter, is not a nice person. (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)
