I am in Colorado. I received & accepted a job offer from a large telecom company 3 weeks ago and gave my current employer notice. When I called to confirm a start time & location, I could not reach the recruiter who had hired me, so I left messages for her and at a main extension, but never received a return call. When I reported to begin the training program on my designated start date, I was told that the recruiter who had hired me had been fired and all of her new hires were being "reviewed." They retracted the job offer and said they would review my application & contact me if they wanted to pursue it. I had already been thoroughly screened (including a drug test), and given the fact that I quit my job based upon the job offer and their retraction was not based on my qualifications or a change in their need to fill the position, I feel that I may have a case for either promissory estoppel or breach of contract. Please advise.
