I received and signed an offer letter for a new position. One week before I was to start my new job, the company was acquired and put on hiring freeze. They rescinded my offer and said that because I had resigned my old job before they extended the offer, I did not incurr any financial hardship and therefore did not owe me anything. Anything I can do?
