My place of employment, a restaraunt/bar has an unwritten policy of making employees pay for checks when customers walk-out. Some managers enforce it, some don't. If there is extra money in our registers, we are not entitled to it, but if there is a shortage or a bill which is unaccounted for, we are held responsible. Is this legal (in Rhode Island), and if not, where do I find the law so I can prove it?
