I worked for a company from 1980 until 1985, going just over the five year mark (actually closer to 6 years). Is my retirement vested with that company? They are based in Oxlahoma (large, well known oil company) and I understand that under USC, Title 29, Chapter 18 may apply - however they are telling me that it only applies to employees after 1989. Did this law go into effect retro-actively or are there other laws in place which may pre-empt the federal law? Thanks for your help... :^)
