I am a subcontrator - hired to do sales amd marketing for a company. I was told recently that the company attorney said I need to be made an employee. This, just two months before some HUGE contracts are about to close. I would be entitled to 10% commission on the sales. I do not want to become an employee of the company, therefore my contract will be terminated. I believe this is their way around paying my commission. - do I have any recourse? I have offered to see the sales through, as I was contracted to do so, but they say if I don't become their employee, I can't. I am talking about 50 - 80,000 in commissions that will come from sales due to close in the next few months.
