I was at a large company which was purchased by another. When the company's layoffs came, I was not offered a severence package, but was demoted. The reason given to me was that "it was an effort to save my job". I then resigned, which may be what they expected. It is my feeling that if they didn't need my in my current capacity, I should have been offered a severence package. By the way, after I resigned, my replacement was given my original position. Do I have any reason to take action, or should I just let it go? State is Missouri.

Thanks.
