I live in Virginia; the employer is located in Maryland. The company has been down-sizing for the past several months, giving either 1 month or 2 weeks severance to each person. Last week, I was one of eight people "laid off" with NO severance at all. Is it legal for an employer to offer severance to some and not all employees?
