What is the name of your state? az. I have a friend that has been ask to submit to a random drug test, after a meeting with the director who at that time, metionioned he suspected drug abuse due to her weight loss. She is in the fitness industry and loves this type of work. If she were to take the test and fail she would be terminated with a record. What are the consequences of refusing the test and given her notice in regards to future employment in the fitness industry and keeping a clean record? State of az

What are the consequences of refusing the test and given her notice in regards to future employment in the fitness industry and keeping a clean record? Nobody here can answer that relative to a specific industry except to say that anyone who is terminated for refusing to take a drug test (or quits for the same reason) is likely going to have an uphill battle to climb in obtaining new employment. Fair or not, the supposition people will make is that if you refuse the test, it must be because the individual knew it would come up positive for a prohibited substance.

If your friend isn't using any illegal drugs, then she has no reason not to take the test.
