clue me in

California -

My company was going through a reorganization and I was told I could stay if I accepted a substantial reduction in pay and responsibility. I felt the owner/boss was doing this so I would quit and not be eligible for unemployment compensation.

He gave me two days to write a new job description for my self and he would decide if I could be of value to the company.

I quit.

Would I be eligible for Unemployment compensation?

Normally you don't qualify for UI if you quit. However, due to your situation (reduction in pay) I would go ahead & apply - it never hurts. Only the EDD will be able to say whether you qualify or not. If you don't get approved, you can always appeal.
