Terminated while on disability

I was terminated while on a medical leave and collecting disability. Is this legal?

It depends on: (1) how long you have been on disability, (2)what are the chances of your returning to work in the foreseeable future, (3) will you be able to perform the essential functions of the job when you do return, (4)whether your being on disability has placed an undue hardship on your employer because your job has remained vacant, (5) whether your doctor will be giving you a complete release to return, and (6) how others in the same situation were treated.
