Terminated in California because my wife makes a lot of money.
Here's the quote:

"It was terribly handled but you got cut because there was no money and your wife makes you the most reboundable. A necessary decision to preserve the team, and not mine, incidentally, but one I agree with."

Is this legal?

I think what you are saying is that you were selected for layoff because of your wife's salary.

Yes, this is legal. I'm not saying it's how I'd choose to run my business, but it doesn't violate any laws.
