A buddy of mine recently was diagnosed with testicular cancer. I am not certain of his occupation, probably some type of manual labor ( I believe it's landscaping, etc. ). His surgery went well, and his is recovering. However, due to circumstances, he is going to undergo chemotherapy for the next two to three months to be certain that the cancer is completely gone. He informed his employer that due to his upcoming chemotherapy, he was going to be off the next couple of months until he would be able to work again.

He was promptly fired.

Is there anything that he can do? Thank you in advance.
