I work two jobs, for two seperate companies, but the same person holds controlling interest of both companies. I haven't been terminated yet, but I have had attendance problems with one of these jobs. My record at the other is nearly perfect. While I am an at-will worker, if I speak to the owner of both buisnesses, and am assured that I will not be fired from one job as a result of actions at the other, can this constitute a very limited verbal contract? I don't expect to be fired, of course, and I plan not to screw up again, but I'm concerned.
