Tennessee - I have secretly been informed today, on Friday, that my employer is laying off 10 people, including myself, on Monday. I went to the doctor on the Friday that I was told (I am not supposed to know that I am being layed off on Monday) and he took me off work for a few weeks for anxiety and stress. Can my employer still lay me off on Monday? And, if so, can I still qualify for my STD and/or LTD benefits that I pay for each paycheck?
