I was fired from my job in February of this year. I had asked a co-worker to cover my shift for me, and although he showed up in my place- I was still fired for "No Call/No Show". With a limited casino table games job market here in Mississippi- I filed for unemployment and was denied. The letter stated that I was "discharged from [my] employment in accordance with company policy, for making a shift change without management approval".

I wasn't fired for making a shift change without management approval. I was fired for "No call/ No show". Although I did make a shift change without management approval, that is not a grounds for termination. My former employer was not truthful with the Department of Employment Security. I have filed an appeal, what do I do now?
