unemployment benifits

am i eligible for unemployment benifits if my position with my company after 25 years was being eliminated because of a new company buying us out. i was told my position would probably be eliminated in about 5 weeks and i went ahead and quit imediatley

When in doubt, fill the papers out anyway because all they can say is "no." You are not penalized in any way for applying!
