my exwife works in a hardware store in western massachusetts
and was recently told that all employees must wear a collar,
tucked in shirt. she's worked for over 2 years and hasnt
had a problem with this before. they gave her a written
warning a couple of days ago for wearing a t-shirt. the
thing is they don't pay a clothing allowance or supply the
required clothing in question. can she be legally fired for
this? to me if a company says certain clothes are a must
then they have to be provided or pay to obtain them.

NUrses buy their own uniforms. But when it is required, then what you can do is have that cost serve as a tax deduction.
