I recently quit a position in MI, where I had accrued vacation hours that I hadn't used. Do they have to pay me for those hours that I earned? They say they have no legal obligation to, and i know in IL where I live now that it is the law that they have to. I have been told by HR people in MI that it is the law as well, but I am not sure.

Our handbook says that they won't be paid if the Employee is Terminated. I read that to mean that if I was fired, but I didn't think it applied if I quit. There is no term definition page to say that Employee means "employement".

Thank you
