unreliable co-worker

I have a co-worker who is constantly late and misses at least 3 days a month. I am her back up and this increases my work load considerably. My employer tells me they cannot fire her even though she is on probation. Does anyone know the laws regarding termination of an employee in Florida who is without contract who consistantly violates the rules in the company employee handbook.
