Up until two months ago I was a waitress at a franchised breakfast and lunch restaurant in Colorado. The owner is now selling the restaurant to a woman who has absolutely no communication skills or people skills. Ever since she became manager, the waitresses have been required to tip out ridiculous amounts of money to several different things. What I'm wondering is where can I find out if what this new manager/owner is doing is legal? Are there any laws on what waitresses can and can't tip out to?
