What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I've just been reading a federal DOL document about WARN regulations (a little light entertainment) and it seems to be saying that employers with 100 or more employees must invoke WARN notice stuff if they're laying off 50 or more of those employees at once.

Have I got this right? Does this mean that a company with 83 employees doesn't have to invoke WARN even if it closes down entirely (and lays off all 83 people on the same day)?

Thanks.

An employer with less than 100 employees is not subject to WARN, regardless of what percentage of the employees are being laid off.

You have that correct.
