Hi,
If an employee (at will) was terminated for not following policy and causing a direct monetary loss for the company, can several days of salary be withheld from payroll to cover these losses? The wage withholding would still be significantly less than the loss caused to the company. If so, how must this be done.
Thank you.

IS this a scenario or real? Are you the employee or the employer?

If you are the employee and your wages are being held you need to contact the new york state department of labor and file a claim for these wages as well as for a determination of unemployment eligibility
