working with cig. smokers

Can I refuse to ride in a van all day with a person that chain smokes ?

If so is my employer obligated to accomidate me in any way ?
We go to several places in one day and we don't use our own vehicles.
I work for a small electrical company in Connecticut.

Instead of startign a fire maybe you should ask your employer to make smoking in company vehicles illegal,I work for co. that has passed this law indoors and in vehicles. It's called the blue sky law "If you can't stand under it you can't lihgt up".I'm an x smoker I know your pain.
