worplace confidentiality

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC

Is there a law that protects employees confidentiality when applying for a job within a company they currently work for? Is HR allowed to tell whoever they wish who applied?

The answer is no, there isn't a law thats protects this type of confidentiality.
