i recently was fired in minnesota. my employer told someone else that i was not working there anymore and he has not told me personally. that day i wrote a letter asking why i was fired and i sent it by certified mail. that was july 2nd and i have not gotten a response. what do i do now?

Are you still working at the job? If so, there is nothing to do.

If you are not, did the person who told you you were fired have authority to notify you of being fired? If that person had no authority to notify you of being fired, then you still work there.

However, most people are employees at will and have no employment contracts or union contracts that protect them. That means that a boss can fire them at will for any legal reason other than discrimination on the basis of such things such as race, color, creed, etc. or no reason at all. If there is an employment contract, or a union, that's different.
